The challenge: How can a chapel, house, shop and garden be reimagined as a sustainable heritage site?

A community project to restore and revive Capel Carmel and the old shop in Anelog, Siop Plas, the renewal aimed to make sensitive use of the chapel, house, shop and garden – creating a sustainable heritage and cultural site that breathes new life into this rural corner of Llŷn. Working one building at a time the project has so far brought electricity to the site as well as developing landscaping, parking and interpretation, as well as hosting classes and workshops. In 2020 construction work began to restore Siop Plas, a shop that in its heyday acted as a meeting place and social hub for the area.
